Job Role: The role involves analyzing market dynamics, monitoring price movements, and forecasting trends to guide decision-making. The role will involve close collaboration with the supply team, contributing to risk management and ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.

Responsibilities:

Market analysis and research

• Monitor and interpret market trends, supply and demand dynamics including vessel movements, and price movements in gasoline and its components
• Monitor and report on market news, regulatory changes, and geopolitical events
• Utilize advanced analytical tools and software (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, Reuters) to develop and maintain analytical models for market data analysis and trading support
• Evaluate and recommend trading opportunities based on market insights and analysis

Trading support and risk management

• Identify and assess potential risks associated with activities
• Collaborate with the risk management team to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

Reporting and documentation

• Track and report on trading and blending performance along with risk
• Maintain accurate records of transactions
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive reports and presentations on market conditions, trading performance, and strategic recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
• Maintain and develop relationships with external stakeholders and counterparties

Experience and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in market analysis within the oil and gas industry, with a preferred focus on gasoline and gasoline components
• Strong understanding of the global oil and gas market dynamics
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel and other analytical tools
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Knowledge of trading systems and platforms, and familiarity with risk management tools and techniques
• Experience with programming languages such as Python for data analysis is highly preferred.
