Description
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and optimizing the billing processes and ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
Responsibilities
Billing:
- Prepare and issue accurate invoices to clients in a timely manner
- Verify billing data, including ad placements, campaign durations, and pricing structures
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to billing with internal teams and clients
- Maintain and update client billing information in the accounting system
Collections:
- Monitor accounts receivable and identify overdue accounts
- Initiate collection efforts through emails & with sales team collaboration
- Document daily collections activity and provide status updates
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Revenue Manager
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate and analyze aging reports to track outstanding invoices and payment trends
- Prepare regular reports on collection activities and billing performance for management
- Assist in month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable and billing
Client Relations:
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding their billing inquiries and concerns
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive client relationships
- Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to address client needs and improve billing processes
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures related to billing and collections
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all billing and collection activities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in billing, collections, or a similar role, preferably in the AdTech or advertising industry
- Proficiency in NetSuite, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with AdTech industry billing practices and terminology is a plus
