Position Summary
As a Project Engineering Coordinator, you will manage and execute the design, implementation, and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, ensuring adherence to project charters, design specifications, and Nestlé standards. Your responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of designs, project controls, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for new infrastructure and equipment. You will monitor progress against management plans, address operational issues promptly, and minimize delays. Additionally, you will identify and mobilize necessary resources to ensure project success, and support the development of engineering standards, design specifications, and work guidelines. Your role is crucial in advancing business objectives, enhancing product quality, and optimizing plant performance while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental protection.
A DAY IN THE LIFE …
- Before starting the project design phase: Support the End to End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.
- During project design phase: Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications “URS” and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.
- During the project implementation phase: Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g. buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all of the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) is performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.
- During the start-up phase of the project: Support the Operations and Start-Up Leader and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation.
- Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.
- Ensure proper project closing and H/O to the relevant stakeholders.
- During the whole project life: Promote development of environmental-friendly and sustainable solutions.
What Will Make You Successful…
- Experience in Project Management: 1-3 years of experience in managing capital investment projects within the food industry, demonstrating effective project development and implementation skills.
- Proven ability to determine and apply methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damage to people and equipment, ensuring a strong focus on Safety, Health, and Environment (SH&E).
- Practical understanding of factory operations, as required for successful project execution.
- Familiarity with I2L methodologies and practices, acquired through online training and workshops.
- Knowledge of the requirements for a comprehensive capital expenditure (capex) submission and proficiency with relevant tools, based on available online training resources.
