The Area Marketing Manager/Director will report directly to the property(s) General Manager, and the Corporate Managing Director of Marketing. You will work closely with the DOSM, the home office and regional marketing team.In partnership with marketing, public relations, and operations executives at the hotels and home office, the Area Marketing Manager/Director will play a critical role in the development of the hotels overall brand/marketing plan and to achieve the revenue goals and drive awareness of each of the assigned hotels, restaurants, and bars. As a member of the Area Marketing team, your role is integral in growing the visibility and impact Marketing has on the bottom line. As a team, we contribute marketing strategy to align with all on-property business objectives.
Responsibilities Described Below But Not Limited To
In helping you understand your role in working for a world-class organization, the following is a list of your essential job responsibilities. Please keep in mind that this list is not all inclusive and that you may be asked to perform other job tasks by your manager not listed below in the constant quest to provide “out of this world” customer service experience for our guests:
Overall Marketing Management:
- Lead Weekly or bi-weekly Marketing Meetings
- Submit Marketing Meeting Agenda, take active meeting minutes and provide recaps with actionable, specific takeaways. Send to property team and DHM leadership.
- Run with baton to spearhead marketing portion of strategy, once initiative/business objective or activation is developed and confirmed by property leadership.
- Develop and execute a strategic annual activation calendar WITH property/operations leadership, own marketing strategy execution of these activations.
- Set up and spearhead Brand, Lifestyle and Social Photo Shoots – secure and implement all images.
- Utilize all Brand Marketing materials from Brand Hubs (Marriott, Hilton, IHG, Wyndham)
- Learn and Implement Brand Standards to ensure all Marketing efforts follow Brand Guidelines.
- Proactively explore insights, trends, observations, influences that have an impact on local and national market and target customers.
- Set standards for guests’ database growth and build multimedia campaigns to build communication with local and national databases.
- Keep abreast of all local happenings and events where the property can partner and promote.
- Identify local brand partnerships and work closely with the Home Office regional marketing team to ensure the correct and on brand activations and programming are set up to achieve the hotels revenue goals.
- Lead Resort pass strategy, management and relationship with resort pass contact to ensure property is staying ahead of the market and comp set.
Collateral and Creative Development:
- Develop various collateral and on-going communication to the sales database and customers.
- Regional marketing team, ensure the standards for digital and printed creative pieces and match brand guidelines including (but not limited to) email marketing templates, menus, images, videos, sales collateral, and any other promotional materials needed.
- Utilization of Canva, Microsoft Publisher ISSUU and other creative platforms to develop digital and print creative.
Social Media :
- manage all hotel and restaurant social media accounts
- Stay ahead of trends, utilize analytical tools and META content calendars.
- Provide strategic guidance for hotels and F&B social presence, while aligning them with web content and brand messaging.
- Develop of visual content in the format of (but not limited to) reels, videos, images, carousels.
- Implement captivating visuals paired with captions and clear CTAs
E-Commerce & SEO:
- Work in partnership with the Corporate Managing Director of E-Commerce and the E-Commerce Specialist on marketing SEO initiatives.
- Own auditing visual assets across Brand and vanity sites for Hotels and F&B, ensuring all photos are up to date on website. (This is done directly by you or website vendor support submission)
- Own management of all Brand Approved visual assets; save all visual assets to External Share Drive
- Weekly Google My Business Listing Audits: Manage profile page, optimize it for best content utilizing all appropriate areas to enhance listing.
- Weekly OTA audits – ensure proper photos and content are shown. Nothing beyond photos.
- Take responsibility for updating the hotel vanity websites with their activations.
- Maintain local listings for restaurants and hotel including Tripadvisor, Yelp, GBP, and Bing
- Maintain menus on Single Platform if no F/B manager handling it (if property is utilizing single platform)
- Maintain Yext for restaurants if restaurant is utilizing Yext.
- Ensure DHM Ecommerce department has updates on special offers / activations for google advertising.
